D. Udaya Kumar born on 10th October 1978 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. D. Udaya Kumar pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from School of Architecture and Planning (SAP) Anna University,Chennai. His areas of interest include graphic design, typography, type design and design research with special focus on Tamil typography. He has just completed his PhD work on the evolution of the Tamil script,which dates back to 2nd century AD, IIT Bombay under the guidance of Prof. G.V.Sreekumar. He has also designed a tamil font named "Parashakti" as a mini project at IDC
